Genuine McGaughy's Suspension in Australia

Tough Trucks is the exclusive Australian distributor for McGaughy's Suspension. McGaughy's has designed and built award-winning lift, levelling and lowering kits in Fresno, California since 1984 — made in-house in the USA for Chevrolet, GMC, Ford and RAM.

Owners pick McGaughy's for stance and ride. The kits add clearance and tyre room without the harsh, truck-show feel a lot of lifts have. Our biggest sellers are the 4" lift kits and the 7–9" lift kits, especially on late-model Silverado and Sierra 2500 and 3500. We also stock levelling kits when you want a level stance and a modest height gain without a full lift.

McGaughy's 4" lift kits — our everyday best seller

The McGaughy's 4" premium lift is the kit we fit most. It is the sweet spot for Australian trucks: aggressive stance, room for larger tyres, and a ride that still works as a daily. The current 4" kits for 2020–2026 Silverado and Sierra 2500/3500 come with McGaughy's M84 shocks and are a bolt-on system designed to work with factory electronics and sensors.

If you have been comparing brands, this is the McGaughy's height most owners end up in — enough lift to look right on a 2500, without jumping straight to a 7–9" show build. 4" kits are also available for RAM 2500 and other Chevrolet, GMC and Ford applications.

McGaughy's 7–9" lift kits — maximum stance

The 7–9" premium lift is our other big seller when the brief is maximum height and a serious tyre. These kits are built for Silverado and Sierra 2500/3500 (including 2020–2026), with coverage back through earlier GM 1500 and HD trucks as well. They deliver the clearance, wheel fitment and presence McGaughy's is known for, with the same in-house USA fabrication — heavy-duty steel, precision welding and coatings made for real use.

Not sure between 4" and 7–9"? Tell us how you use the truck — daily drive, tow, touring or a full custom build — and we will spec the right height, shocks and supporting parts.

Levelling kits

A McGaughy's levelling kit levels the factory rake so the front sits even with the rear, with a small height gain and a cleaner stance. We stock levelling kits for Chevrolet and GMC 1500, RAM 2500/3500, Ford F-150 and F-250/F-350 Super Duty. Levelling is the right call when you want better looks and a bit more tyre room without a full 4" or 7–9" lift.

In-house mod plates and GVM upgrades

A lift is only half the job in Australia. When we supply and install a McGaughy's kit, we can also complete the modification plate in-house so the lift is certified for registration. We also do GVM upgrades in-house — useful if you tow, carry a canopy, or need more legal payload than the factory rating.

That means one workshop for the kit, the install, the engineering and the paperwork: Gold Coast (Arundel) and North Mackay. Call 07 5500 0095 and we will confirm what your vehicle needs for a legal McGaughy's lift and, if required, a GVM upgrade.

Lowering kits and components

McGaughy's has been building lowering components since 1984 — spindle, coil, torsion-key, leaf-spring and flip kits for Chevrolet, GMC, Ford and RAM, including classics. We also stock matching parts: upper control arms, traction bars, torsion keys, compression struts, rear leaf shims, M84 reservoir shocks and billet hardware.

McGaughy's Suspension FAQs

Is Tough Trucks the official McGaughy's distributor in Australia?

Yes. Tough Trucks is the exclusive Australian distributor for McGaughy's Suspension. Genuine McGaughy's for the Australian market should come from us.

Are McGaughy's kits bought elsewhere grey imports?

If the kit did not come from Tough Trucks, treat it as a grey import. Warranty and local support may not apply. Buy from us for a genuine kit, a valid warranty path, and in-house install, mod plate and GVM work.

What are your most popular McGaughy's kits?

Our biggest sellers are the 4" premium lift kits and the 7–9" premium lift kits, particularly for 2020–current Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500. The 4" is the everyday favourite for ride and stance; the 7–9" is for maximum height and tyre.

Should I get a levelling kit or a full lift?

Choose a levelling kit to even out factory rake with a modest height gain. Choose a 4" lift for a proper lifted stance and larger tyres while keeping a usable daily ride. Choose 7–9" when you want maximum height. We will spec it around your truck, tyre size and how you drive.

Do you do mod plates and GVM upgrades with a McGaughy's install?

Yes. We can complete modification plates in-house for McGaughy's lifts, and we offer in-house GVM upgrades if you need a higher legal load rating. Ask us when you book the kit so the engineering is planned with the install.

Which vehicles do McGaughy's kits fit?

McGaughy's specialises in Chevrolet, GMC, Ford and RAM — Silverado and Sierra 1500/2500/3500, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, RAM 1500/2500/3500, and Ford F-150, F-250 and F-350. Check the listing for year and drivetrain, or call 07 5500 0095.

Does a McGaughy's 4" kit ride well?

That is why it is our biggest seller. McGaughy's 4" kits are designed for an aggressive stance with on-road comfort, not just height. A lot of our customers choose the 4" specifically because it rides nicer than a comparable lift at that height.

Do you install McGaughy's kits?

Yes. We supply Australia-wide and install at Tough Trucks HQ in Arundel on the Gold Coast and Tough Trucks NQ in North Mackay, including supporting parts, wheels and tyres, mod plates and GVM upgrades.
