Ford F-150 GVM Upgrade
An Australia-delivered F-150, 2021 to 2026, starts around 3,220 kg on a SWB XLT. These federally approved SSM packages move it to 3,700 kg, 4,000 kg or 4,300 kg, all still under 4,500 kg and on a car licence. Lariat and Platinum kerb weights are higher, so the payload in the table is the XLT figure. We fit the package as specified. Private imports are not covered.
Platinum factory steps stick out past the cab. Flares on that truck mean the steps get shortened in the workshop. Stages 5 and 6 are pre-registration. A 6 inch lift does not carry more than a 2 inch lift. Stage 6 is back at 3,700 kg.

Stage 2 · 3,700 kg
2 inch with Fox 2.5 Elite. Same GVM as stage 1. Factory wheels. The change is the shock, not the rating.
Stage 3 · 4,300 kg
The heavy stage. 200 kg or 400 kg packs, wheels rated to 1,250 kg, 116Q tyres. About 1,819 kg payload. GCM 8,800 kg. 35 inch tyres need flares. Without flares the tyre stops at 285/75R18 on a +35 offset.
Stage 4 · 4,300 kg
Same 4,300 kg as stage 3, with Fox 3.0 bypass shocks. Wheels still required.
Stage 5 · 4,000 kg
4 inch BDS, pre-registration. GVM is 4,000 kg, which is less than stage 3. GCM 8,500 kg. Choose this for the lift, not for more payload.
Stage 6 · 3,700 kg
6 inch BDS and 37x13.5R20, pre-registration. GVM returns to 3,700 kg and GCM to 7,720 kg. 18 inch wheels hit the tie rods on the current F-150, so this stage is a 20 inch wheel.

Wheels and tyres
Where the table says a load-rated wheel is required, the wheel is quoted with the package. It is not approved for that stage until the provider signs it off and the load rating meets the figure in the table.
The shortlist, in order, is an AEV wheel that fits this truck, then the KMC KM733 Impact FFT on an HD 8-lug, then Fuel Maverick or Fuel Vapor in 18x9 or 20x9 at +20. Method is not on this list.
AEV is used when we stock a wheel for this bolt pattern. Otherwise the quote starts at the KMC KM733.
Tyres are a BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 when a size meets the stage load index. A BFGoodrich all-terrain is the alternative. A bar, winch or canopy adds kerb weight and uses payload. It does not change the approved kit.

In-house modification plate
This is a different job from the federally approved package above. We supply a McGaughy's or BDS kit, install it at Arundel or Mackay, and issue the modification plate ourselves. The certified kilograms are set for your VIN. They are not the stage ratings in the table.
Use this path to stay at or under 4,500 kg on a car licence, or when the truck is outside the SSM approval. A private-import Silverado 2500 is the usual case.

Which stage actually adds payload?
Stage 3 and stage 4, both 4,300 kg and about 1,819 kg of payload on an XLT. Stage 6 looks the biggest and carries less, because the 37 inch tyre package is certified at 3,700 kg.
Does a Platinum change the numbers?
Yes. The kerb in this table is a SWB XLT. A Lariat or Platinum is heavier, so payload drops even though the GVM stays the same. Send the VIN before you pick a stage. Platinum steps also need shortening if the stage uses flares.
Is a grey import covered?
No. The approval is for Ford Australia delivered F-150s. Anything else is an in-house plate, with its own rating.
